Tryouts for the 2026/27 Season Announced!

Tryouts for the 2026/27 season will take place on Wednesday June 3rd and Thursday June 4th at 8:00 pm at the Spencer Family YMCA. The Spencer Family YMCA is located is 305 Church Street, Bethel Park, PA 15102.

Participants must register in advance. To register, visit the 'Tryouts / Register' page.

Cost to tryout is $100.

All players must have a valid USA Hockey membership number to register and must wear full equipment to attend the tryout sessions. Full equipment includes : Helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, neck guard, elbow pads, shin guards, hockey pants/girdle, skates, and a hockey stick. Players should bring a light colored and a dark colored jersey with them each session.

Open Skates for all interested players!

During the month of March, the current Carrick Cougars coaching staff and players invite interested future players to join them for a number of practices. This is a great way to introduce yourself to the coaching staff and players and see what its like to be a Carrick Cougar, and at no cost to you! Parents are invited to stick around, introduce yourself to some of our Carrick staff and board members and be sure that you bring your questions!

All practices will be held at Ice Castle Ice Rink, 990 Castle Shannon Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15234. Most of the practices will be on the 'Track Side' rink and locker room assignments will be posted on the electronic board above the main desk in the middle of the lobby.

All players must have full hockey equipment in order to participate which includes ice hockey skates, shin guards, elbow pads, should/chest protector, helmet, gloves, and hockey stick. If you do not have equipment, please contact PittsburghCarrickCougars@gmail.com and we will attempt to find equipment for you to borrow during the practice.

Carrick Cougars Host Pittsburgh ICE Players & Coaches

Carrick Hockey Hosts Pittsburgh ICE To Promote Interscholastic Hockey In Pittsburgh

Under sun splashed skies and perfect temps for outdoor hockey, the Carrick Cougars hosted members of the Pittsburgh ICE hockey program for a morning of fun hockey the way it was meant to be played, OUTDOORS!

Roughly 40 players from the 2 programs came together to share stories, make friends, and create memories while promoting the Carrick Cougars program to city hockey players who otherwise may not be aware there are options for playing high school hockey within city limits.

The Pittsburgh ICE program brought donuts to get everyone going before taking the ice and we finished the morning with pizza and hot chocolate provided by the Cougars!

Not only is this is a great way to promote our program, but its a perfect way to instill the value of providing support to all members throughout our hockey community.
